Womens Word's - Edited By Dr. Ralla Guha Niyogi

Feminist movements, feminine literary criticism and women’s writings aim to portray, analyse and overcome the constraints of patriarchal boundaries in society, in an effort to establish the individuality and spiritual independence of women. This volume contains insightful essays that focus on these issues, and includes essays on Virginia Woolf, Jean Rhys, Asian women as represented by American Popular Culture and feminist ideas as expressed by George Bernard Shaw, Jane Austen, Mary Wollstonecraft, E M Forster. It also explores the predicament of Eurasian women and provides an analysis of the female subject in Indian mythical and epic narratives.

It is hoped that his volume of essays will contribute significantly to the great body of critical readings on feminist studies and be especially useful to under graduate and post graduate students alike. It will also be of special interest to readers interested in gender studies in literature.
